Chris Adams says he has had no contact with Lancashire about joining their coaching staff.
Current coach Mike Watkinson is moving into a new role as director of cricket at Old Trafford, creating a vacancy for a first-team coach.
Former Sussex captain Adams was immediately linked with the vacancy but he has not spoken with Lancashire. If Adams does leave Hove his likely destination still remains Surrey.
He was interviewed for the job of cricket manager at The Oval last week and I understand he will have a second interview today.
His rivals for the job include former Australia coach Geoff Marsh.
Although Adams still has a year left on his playing contract at Sussex, he is keen to move into cricket management.
He was overlooked by Sussex for the job of chief executive and missed out on the job of team manager at Hampshire after they opted for a partnership between former player Giles White and ex-England coach Duncan Fletcher.
